Birth
Christena Beck gave her age as 58 years of age in her deposition in August, 1898 in the pension file of Jacob Himes' widow. This would make her birth date about 1839 to 1840. She was born sometime between 1835 and 1839 based on her age in the 1860 through the 1900 censuses. Her age in the deposition is probably the most accurate.Endnotes
