Individual Details
Mary MCCOY
(4 Nov 1781 - Aft 30 Jun 1854)
Although Daniel McCoy had at least three daughters based on the early census records, Mary is the only child for whom we have a baptism record. We know from the first letter from that Mary married a man named McCreay and had a son James McCreay. The 1850 census lists a Samuel McCreay with a wife Polly (Polly was a nickname for Mary) and a son James in Plum Creek Township, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. It should be noted that Shelocta in Indiana County where James McCreay lived when he wrote the letter in 1854 is a short distance from Plum Creek Township in Armstrong County.
