Samuel and his brothers George, Abner, and Simon were among the earliest settlers in the vicinity of Cherry Tree, Pennsylvania and ran some of the early rafts.
The Steele family history states that Samuel Conner lived in Sharpsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. There was a Samuel Conner with a wife Catherine in the 1850 and 1860 censuses for Sharpsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania but there there is no other information to indicate if this Samuel Conner was a son of John Conner.
