Military
He served overseas from 30 April 1942 to 25 January 1945 in Africa and Italy. While serving with the U.S. Army during World War II, he won a battlefield commission in Italy. He was also awarded nine battle stars. He was discharged15 July 1947 at Camp McCoy in Wisconsin but reenlisted. He was a Master Sergeant when he filed an application with Pennsylvania for World War II compensation.
Marriage
Kindrel married Charles G. Sippi sometime before 30 April 1942 since he was overseas from 30 April 1942 to 25 January 1945 during World War II. She is the same person that married George Boro since she was living at 1617 W. Jefferson St. in Louisville, Kentucky when Charles G. Sippi received a promotion in 1944 and when she was shot on 3 May 1947 by her husband, George Boro.Divorce

Charles G. Sippi met a woman at the Silver Tavern in Seattle on Thanksgiving and registered with her as his wife at a hotel (1420 Sixth Avenue) on 27 November 1952. He gave his address as Fort Lawton. She later died from smoke suffocation caused by a bed fire from a lighted cigarette after he had left. She told him she was a barmaid but refused to give him her name. Although she was unidentified in the newspaper article in the Seattle Times, Mrs. John M. (Ruth May) Carlson was the only woman who died on November 27, 1952 in Seattle. Her obituary in The Tacoma Sunday Ledger-News Tribune for November 30, 1952 stated she died at home and leaves a husband.Death
Griffin committed suicide in Eta Jima, Japan while in the Army. Jacob Conner Wolfe, his half brother, said he had been involved in some kind of trouble and his mother was told by his commanding officer that she did not want to know what it was.Endnotes
