Birth
The 1850 through the 1870 censuses all give an age for him consistent with him being born about 1815.Property
This property was later sold to Harry White for $975 on a suit brought by him on 30 November 1883. It is recorded in the Sheriff and Treasurer's Deed Book 5, page 8.Death
Although his date of death was given as 5 April 1883 when letters of administration were filed in Indiana County, his death notice in The Indiana Democrat gives his date of death as 5 April 1879. His wife Susan McCoy was listed as a widow in the 1880 census. Therefore, the 1883 date is in error.Endnotes
