Naihekukui

LIFE
A. Naihekukui means "the spears of candlenut" (Bingham, A Residence of Twenty-one Years in the Sandwich Islands, p xvi).
B. He was "national orator and keeper of the records of the King and nation." As one of the chiefs "who accompanied Kamehameha II and Queen Kamamalu to England," he died at sea on February 8, 1825 (Hawaiian Chiefs Biographical Abstract). He traveled with Liholiho to England and died on the trip (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 256-257).
