Individual Details
Owen James Holt
( - 1891)
"Owen was tall, slender, handsome, blue-eyed, fair-skinned, and was sent to the mainland to study animal husbandry. Soon he was in charge of all three of his fathers ranches, built an enormous house at his favorite, Makaha. There were also guest houses, enough for a hundred guests, servants houses, a large pavilion at the beach from which to swim or fish, peacocks on the lawn, blooded race horses in the stables, and a race track on the valley floor. When his mother died in 1891, Owen locked himself into his room and refused food. He was dead within six days of his beloved mother's death" Oukah, Hawaiian Royal & Noble Genealogies, p 49).
