LIFE
A. Laura is the Christian name on Bernice P. Bishop's Pew in Kawaiahao church (Hawaiian Chiefs Biographical Abstract).
B. "She adopted the daughter of Keohokalole and Kapaakea, and named her Kamakaeha (Sore Eyes) because of Pricess Kinau's dull headaches and sore eyes that she was suffering at this time. This child was later Queen Liliuokalani" (Oukah, Hawaiian Royal & Noble Genealogies, p 198).
C. She was a member of the legislature 1840-1847 (Bingham, A Residence of Twenty-one Years in the Sandwich Islands, p xvi).
C. She died from illness (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 237) at age 50 (Hawaiian Chiefs Biographical Abstract).
