A. He was chief of Kaohe in Kona (Record of foster parents of the Kamehamehas and other chiefs, HEN v1 p 763-765).
B. Papa was an attendant of the child Liholiho, who gave him the name of I'i (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 220).
C. Conflict: Uncle to John Papa I'i (Ii, Fragments of Hawaiian History, p vii).
D. Fragment: Kalai-heana, Ho'omakaukau, and Manuia were relatives of Papa I'i who were personal attendants of Liholiho.
