LIFE
A. He was the ruling chief of Molokai. "Kaiakea, a chief of the island of Molokai, was counted in ancient times in Hawaii as an architect, astrologer, an orator, a composer of the genealogical and historical chant, and a keeper of the basic genealogies of the archipelago... Kaiakea was a political advisor in the time of Kamehameha I .... Kaiakea had a total of ten children, eight sons and two daughters, from his three wives. He alone taught these children the chiefly genealogies and the composing of the genealogical and historical chants " (McKinzie, Hawaiian Genealogies, vol 2 p 92-93).

Fragment: "Kaiakea was a wise counsellor in ancient time in his occupation taught by his grandfathers from Kapouhiwaokalani to the sons, Mahinuiakalani and Kauauanuiamahi and Kuikai, on down to Kukalanihoouluae, the own father of Kaiakea." He "had a total of ten children, eight sons and two daughters, from his three wives" (McKinzie, Hawaiian Genealogies, vol 2 p 92-93).
