LIFE
A. He was named Boki after Kahekili's attack dog (Dibble, History of the Sandwich Islands, p 64).
B. He was governor of Oahu (Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 222). Governor from 1819-1820 (Bingham, A Residence of Twenty-One Years in the Sandwich Islands, p 80)
C. Fragment: His younger half brother Kinau, whose father was Kauhikoakoa (chief of Kahekili) who died in battle in abt 1783 (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 136).
D. He accompanied Liholiho to England (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 256).
E. Because of his knowledge of English customs, he became chief counselor of young Kamehameha III "and had control over all the affairs of the kingdom" (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 274).
F. He was disliked by Kaahumanu and vice versa (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 284-287).
G. He died on a "wild expedition" for sandal-wood in the South Pacific (Alexander, A Brief History of the Hawaiian People, p 203).
