Bernice Aune, age 90, of Hendricks, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the Hendricks Hospital.
Funeral service will be 10:30 am on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Christ Lutheran Church in Hendricks with Rev. Duane Baun officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 am on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in the East Hendricks Cemetery. Arrangements are with Birk Funeral Home of Hendricks.
Bernice was born November 3, 1919 in Hendricks Township, Lincoln County, MN, the daughter of Hans & Anna (Morken) Thoreson. She married Julian Aune on September 9, 1944 in Calvary Lutheran Church. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Bernice spent her entire life in the Hendricks community. She worked at Larson’s Grocery, Severson’s Drug and as a cook at Hendricks Hospital. In her spare time, she enjoyed making quilts that she would donate to the Ronald McDonald House, collecting dolls, making clothes for the dolls, ceramics, baking and needlework.
She is survived by her son, Charles (Donna) of Braddock, ND; brother, Neil Thoreson; sister, Gladys Thoreson and several nieces & nephews.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son, Julian Jean; two brothers, Sander & Nels; two sisters, Alice & Hazel “Adeline.”
