Edgar LeRoy Lovro

Edgar L. Lovro was born Oct. 15, 1922 at Hendricks, MN to Emil and Bertha Lovro. On Sept. 18, 1949, he was united in marriage to Avis Colby at Lake Preston, SD. Edgar was an Army veteran, serving in the European Campaign during WWll from 1942 to 1945. He was awarded the Purple Heart Award.
Mr. Lovro was employed at the Veterans Hospital for 30 years, retiring as supply clerk in 1979. Following his retirement, he worked at SAE Warehouse for 8 years.
Mr. Lovro was a charter member of Hope Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls V.F.W. and Moose Lodge, and the Hartford Legion Post No. 118.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Avis; 1 daughter, Mrs. Dwight (Carol) Scott, Canton, SD; 1 son, Craig Lovro, Sioux Falls; 3 sisters, Grace Schaefer, Sioux Falls, Elnora Smedsrud, Volga, SD and Jeanette Carlson, Dallas, TX; 5 grandchildren; 2 aunts, Laura Lovro and Gladys Lovro; 1 uncle, Gilbert Lovro; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 granddaughter.
The family of Edgar L. Lovro thanks you for your support and presence today. An invitation is extended to join them at the church for refreshments and fellowship following the committal service.
