Funeral Services for I.O. Ramlo
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, March 20, for Ingebright O. Ramlo at the Calvery Lutheran Church in Hendricks, Minnesota with Rev. Lloyd Kallevig officiating. Interment was in East Hendricks cemetery. Serving as pall bearers were Manual Ramlo, David Ramlo, Arnold Morken, Peter Ness, Richard Engesmoe and Glendon Ramlo.
A family service was held in the church basement at 1:30 P.M., followed by the church services at 2: P.M. Mrs Carvell Johnson served as organist at both services, and Mrs Glen Johnson was soloist.
I.O. Ramlo was born in Hommelvik, Norway, April 13, 1875, son of Ole and Beret Fjeseth. He came to the Hendricks community with his older brother Peter F. Olson on July 4, 1884, at the age of nine and made his home with an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Christian Ramlo. He changed his last name from Fjeseth (which he used in Norway) to Ramlo, because he lived with the Ramlo's. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith in Norway and was confirmed at Hendricks. He married Sofie Ramlo October 30, 1903.
Mr. Ramlo farmed his entire lifetime, served as treasurer of school District # 32 for more than 30 years, and was active in church and community work. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Surviving with his widow are the following seven children: Mrs. Miner (Clara) Johnson of Hendricks, Minnesota, Mrs. Charles (Olive) Ingemann of St. Paul, Minnesota, Mrs. William (Gunda) Amundson of Porter, Minnesota, Otto of Waterloo, Iowa, Justin and Arno of Hendricks, Minnesota and Ingolf of Stafford, Conn. Also surviving him are six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
