==Biography==Margaret Stewart was the daughter of Francis Stewart, Earl of Bothwell, and his wife Margaret Douglas.Paul, p. 517 states eldest daughter, but on p. 172 lists her as second daughter Her birth date is based on that of her husband who was born about 1600.Cokayne, p. 104; Paul, p. 517
She married (contract dated August 1621),Cokayne, p. 104 Alan Cathcart, 5th Lord Cathcart, but there were no issue, or no surviving issue from this marriage.Paul, p. 517 states there were no issue, but Cokayne, p. 104 states she died s.p.s. which means no surviving issue
She must have died before 29 October 1626, when her husband entered into a contract to marry Jean Colquhoun of Luss.Cokayne, p. 104; Paul, p. 517
