London: John Camden Hotten, 1874. [https://archive.org/stream/originallistsofp00hottuoft#page/n45/mode/2up pp 42, 43]

=== Savage Gen. Dict. ===
"Stiles, John, Windsor, s. of Thomas, bapt. at Milbrook,
Co. Bedford, 25 Dec. 1595, came with his brs. Francis, Henry,
and Thomas, in the Christian from London, Mar. 1635, tho. his age in
the custom ho. rec. is call. 35, ... he also brot. w. prob. Jane, aged35; and s. Henry, 3 yrs. and John, 9 mos."Savage, James. ''A Genealogical Dictionary of the First Settlers of New England Showing Three Generations of Those Who Came Before May, 1692. Vol. I-IV.'' Boston, MA, USA: 1860-1862.
Note that John's wife was the Rachel, who with two small children accompanied the group, and so he could not have been the husband of Joan.

=== Stiles Genealogy ===Baptism 13 Jan 1604 at Milbroke. (pp 7, 14, 20) Jonne Stylles the daughter of Thomas Stylles and marie his wyffe was Baptized the xiiith day of Januarie. Stiles, Henry Reed. ''The Stiles family in America. Genealogies of the Connecticut family'' Jersey City: Doan & Pilson, printers, 1895.
In the records there is also. 22 Jan 1605. Jonne Stylles, the wyffee of Thomas Stylles was buried the 22 day of Januarie. Henry Stiles later concludes that this Joan is the wife of an entirely different Thomas, since Thomas and Marie continue to have children, and both are buried within days of each other in 1614.

Another record 13 Jan 1635. William Heddye & Joane Styles married. :-Henry Stiles concludes on [https://archive.org/stream/stilesfamilyina00stilgoog#page/n42/mode/2up p. 22] that this Joan is not the same Joan as baptized 13 Jan 1604, who accompanied her brothers to America, under the Stiles name and was not accompanied by a new husband. :-But on [https://archive.org/stream/stilesfamilyina00stilgoog#page/n502/mode/2up p. 470] Henry Stiles contradicts himself "In regard to the maiden name of Mr. Francis Stiles' wife, I am somewhat in doubt, but I take it to have been Joan _____ probably the 'Joan Stiles, [aged] 35 years,' who appears in the passenger list of the vessel which conveyed the Saltonstall party to America. This Joan could not have been the Joan, sister of the four Stiles brothers, since, .... she was married just previous to their embarkation and remained in England.":: So on page 22 Henry Stiles believes Joan bpt. 1603/4 (sister of Francis) sailed on the Christian as a single woman. And on p. 470 he claims Joan to be the wife of Francis.

=== Anderson Great Migration ===The Great Migration Article on Joan Stiles, mentions her migration on the "Christian" cited by Hotten and her baptism 13 Jan 1603/4, and the Savage and Stiles conclusions Anderson concludes:::"Whatever the identity of this passenger, no record for her has been found in New England."
