"Henry Berney, Esq. was born circa 1540 at of Reedham, Norfolk, England. He married Alice Appleton, daughter of Roger Appleton, Esq., Burgess of Maldon and Agnes Clarke, on 22 March 1562 at Dartford, Kent, England; They had 5 sons (Sir Thomas; Henry; John; Edward; & Richard) & 3 daughters (Anne, wife of Thomas Guybon, Esq; Margaret, wife of Edmund Paston; & Mary, wife of Mr. Elstoff). Henry Berney, Esq. died on 4 March 1585; Buried at Reedham Church, Norfolk.
