Alice Baldwin

I adopted this profile 02-12-2014 and deleted all reference to a marriage or children. I also deleted the gedcom data since it provided no information and referred to ancestry.com family trees without providing source. links invalid. Sir John Baldwin's daughter Alice (3), was the last abbess of Burnham, elected in 1536. The abbey of St Mary the Virgin at Burnham was founded in 1266 ffor Austin canonesses by Richard, King of the Romans, who endowed it with the surrounding lands and the church of Burnham. (1) Sir John Baldwin died on 24 October 1545, and Alice survived him by only a few months. Alice's will was proved 2 March 1546. In her will, Alice requested that her executor erect a tomb of marble over his grave with figures depicting her father and mother and their children. Her executor was Richard Cupper (d. 1584) carried out this request, although no trace of the monument now remains in Aylesbury church. (2) ===Sources=== 1.
