In the work "The Clan Gillean" by Alexander Sinclair she is mentioned as a daughter of Roderick Macleod of Lewis.The clan Gillean; Alexander Sinclair; [https://archive.org/stream/clangillean00sincuoft#page/254/mode/2up page 255] It is not clear from the source which one and neither is her mother identified. On wikitree it has been assumed, based on dates of events, that her father was [[Macleod-362|Roderick Macleod]], 2nd of Lewis. The relationship is not mentioned in any source work for that family. In the work by John Patterson MacLean, "A History of the clan MacLean ....."A History of the clan MacLean .....; John Patterson MacLean, [https://archive.org/stream/historyofclanmac00macluoft#page/236/mode/2up page 236] there is no where near even that confidence.
Wikitree will retain the link to the father. It is unlikely that she shared the same mother as [[MacLeod-1012|Torquil Macleod]], 3rd of Lewis as she, [[Macdonald-3830|Margaret]], based on current dated events must have been close to 60 at the time that this Margaret was born; or, of course the suppositions regarding dates are incorrect.
