*"Landed Families of Perthshire" by Gordon McGregor calls him John Grant of Glenmoriston.The progenitor of the Grants of Glenmoriston was John Mor, natural son of John Grant, second laird of Freuchie. John Mor Grant received a Crown charter of the lands of Glenmoriston in 1509.
*He married first, Elizabeth or Isobella, daughter of Walter Innes, and grand-daughter of Sir Robert Innes of that Ilk. By her he had one daughter, but divorcing his fist wife,
*Secondly, by papal dispensation, in 1544, Agnes, daughter of William Fraser, and grand-daughter of Thomas, Lord Lovat (1460-1524), by whom he had a son Patrick who succeeded him in his estates. He had also three natural sons. John Grant of Culcabock died in Sept 1548.
* William of Guisachan had one daughter, Agnes, married in 1546 (contract dated 1st June) to John Grant of Culcabock, known as "Iain-Mor-Tomantoul ;" she in the Sasine on Culcabock, dated 7th August, 1546, being termed" honesta mulier Agneta Fraser, filia. Gulielmi Fraser de Guisachan," which would indicate that William was alive. An apostolic license for their marriage, without distinguishing designations, is in my possession, dated last April, 1544. The Genealogy says there were two sons-Patrick and John, and that lain Morsubsequently married the widow of Erracht (Ewen, first of the race of the "Boddachs" of Erracht).
