}Sir Gavin Maxwell of Calderwood was the son of [[Maxwell-2572|Sir John Maxwell of Calderwood]] and [[Boyd-9474|Janet Boyd]]. He married [[Lowys-1|Elizabeth Lowys]]. Internet Archive (https://archive.org : accessed 31 October 2016). On 14 February 1486 he had a charter from his father for all of his lands in Lanarkshire.
