== Biography ==
Alice Gifford (Born about 1360, in Yester, Peebles-Shire, Scotland) She was the second daughter of [[Giffard-545|Sir Hugh Giffard]], (Gifford) of Yester by his wife [[Douglas-406|Johanna Douglas]]. While a child she inherited one fourth part of her fathers estate on his death about 1365.
Alice, married [[Boyd-708|Sir Thomas Boyd of Kilmarnock]]. By this union (Sir Thomas) acquired a large fortune.
They had one son: [[Boyd-688|Sir Thomas Boyd]], "dnus de Kylmornowe", (died 1432) who was one of the sureties, or hostages, for King James I (who had been held by the English as prisoner for 19 years).

She died after 1410.
