== Biography ==:Maria van Arkel b about 1389, IJsselstein, d. 18 juli 1415, was a daughter of [[van Arkel-77|Jan V van Arkel]] and Johanna van Gulik.
:She married Jan II van Egmond (1385-1451) : Jan van Egmond overleed den 4den Januarij 1451. Zijn leven was gekenmerkt door groote onrust, en zijne regering over Egmond door groote twisten met de abten der Abdij. Hij werd te Egmond begraven, en zijn zoon deed hem ter eere eene metalen graftombe vervaardigen. Zijne gemalin, '''Maria van Arkel''', die in 1415 overleed, schonk hem twee zonen/ children two sons:
#Aarnoud van Egmont#Wlllem van Egmont (1412-1483), stadhouder van Gelre, in 1437 getrouwd met Walburga van Moers, dochter van graaf Frederik van Moers en Engelberta van Kleef.
