== Biography ==William Hamilton was the first Hamilton of Bathgate.
WIlliam was the son of [[Hamilton-4175|David Hamilton of Cadzow]] and [[Keith-220|Janet Keith]]. His mother, who owned the lands of Bathgate granted him a charter after the death of her husband.
