== Biography ==}'''Gilbert Kennedy''' of Dunure, 1st Lord Kennedy, born c.1406, died after 6 March 1478/79. He was the son of Sir James Kennedy of Dunure, the younger, and Lady Mary Stewart.
He held the office of Keeper of the Castle of Lochdoun. He was created 1st Lord Kennedy [Scotland] c.March 1457.
In 1460, on the death of King James II, he was one of the six Regents of Scotland. He held the office of Constable of Stirling Castle in 1466.
