== Research Notes ==

* Marriage to John Campbell::It was previously stated 'She married John Campbell, son of George Campbell of Loudoun and Elizabeth Stewart, circa 1499.3' In response, it was stated "I note the marriage to John Campbell is only based on the "Stirnet Genealogy" cited on the clan McFarlane site. Why would Marion marry her brother in law while her husband was still alive? (She and her second husband had a charter in 1502, and he is said to have died at Flodden Sept 1513). It seems implausible, and I have removed this marriage until some real evidence for it is provided. It is possible that she married him after her second husband died, i.e. after 1513, but there is no evidence yet to show that. [[Boswell-455|Alan Boswell]] 8 May 2020" It can also be noted that Clan MacFarlane and The Peerage also indicate John Campbell as a husband but Clan MacFarlane indicates this is likely an error and it seems that The Peerage merely copies Clan MacFarlane.
