Janet Seton was the daughter of Sir Alexander Seton of Gordon. She married James Dunbar, 4th Earl of Moray, son of Thomas de Dunbar, 2nd Earl of Moray and Margaret (?), before 1429 in a alleged marriage.
She was also known as Katherine.As a result of her marriage, Janet Seton was styled as Countess of Moray before 1429. From before 1429, her married name became Dunbar.
