Janet Seton or de Seton is the daughter of [[Seton-212|Sir William de Seton]], probably with his wife [[Fleming-562|Janet Fleming]].William de Seton may have been married twice, Janet Fleming is definitely the mother of his second son, and probably the eldest son, and perhaps Janet - Paul, vol. 8, p. 572. Given when Janet was married (see below) a birth date of about 1390, or slightly later, seems reasonable.
She married [[Dunbar-180|George Dunbar]], son of George Dunbar, 10th Earl of Dunbar and his wife Beatrice, before 3 March 1413/14, (the date on which George, her husband gave a discharge of her dowry (tocher) of 300 merks Scots, to her brother John de Seton).Paul, vol. 8, p. 573; however this marriage isn't mentioned in Paul's section on the Dunbars - vol. 3, p. 278
George is cited in documents on 1 November 1423, and 8 April and 15 November 1431Paul, vol. 3, p. 278 but there is no further mention of Janet, or any possible children of the couple.
