Alexander Elphinstone, 1st Lord Elphinstone (died 9 September 1513) was a Scottish peer.
Alexander Elphinstone, 1st Lord Elphinstone, was the son of Sir John Elphinstone of that ilk and of Pittendreich. He was raised to the Peerage of Scotland as Lord Elphinstone, of Elphinstone in the County of Stirling, in 1510. He married Elizabeth Barlow.
Alexander, Lord Elphinstone was killed at the Battle of Flodden in September 1513, along with many other Scottish noblemen, and was succeeded in the lordship by his son Alexander.

Elizabeth, Lady Elphinstone, later married John Forbes, 6th Lord Forbes.
Their daughter Euphemia Elphinstone was a mistress of James V and the mother of the royal bastard Robert Stewart, 1st Earl of Orkney.

Alexander Elphinstone, 1st Lord Elphinstone, attached during hisfather's lifetime to the Household of King JAMES IV. He m ElizabethBarlow (or Berlay or Barclay), an English lady attached to theHousehold of Queen MARGARET, received various grants of lands in theEarldom of Mar united into the Barony of Innernochty, and receivedalso Kildrummy and was constable of its castle. He was created a Lordof Parliament at the christening of Prince Arthur 1509, and in 1513had Kildrummy regranted to himself and his wife and united withInnernochty into the Lordship of Elphinstone. He was k at Flodden 9Sep 1513 leaving (with his widow, who m 1515 as his 3rd wife JohnForbes, 6th Lord Forbes and d 1518) issue:
