Isabel also known as Elizabeth was born about 1340 only daughter to Sir John de Inchmartine and his wife Margaret Wemyss.
Isabel Inchmartine married, before 1362, to Sir Alan Erskine, second son of Sir William Lord Erskine.On marriage Isabel continue to prefer her paternal home; and her husband, Sir Alan Erskine, in her right was lord of Inchmartin. In 1365 he received a Royal Charter to the Barony of Inchmartine and another to Crambeth in Fife. They had issue two daughters :
* Margaret, married to Sir John Glen of Glen and Balmuto * Isabella, married, as second wife, to Sir John Wemyss of Kincaldrum and
Reres, afterwards of Wemyss.

On the 1st of March 1369-70, Alan de Erskine, Laird of Inchmartine, with the consent of Isabel his wife, for the salvation of their souls, and of those of his predecessors and successors, confirmed the charter,and increased the number of bolls of wheat to eight. Isabel was described as the " undoubted andlawful heiress of the foresaid John de Inchmartine."
