:Sir Andrew Moray, also known as Sir Andrew de Moray, or Sir Andrew Murray.
:Sir Andrew was a huge supporter of [[Bruce-129|King Robert ''the Bruce'']] and they were in laws through Andrew's marriage to the King's sister in 1326. Andrew was created him ''Panetarius Scotice'' (Master of the Household) by King Robert.
:After the Battle of Dupplin in August 1332, Sir andrew was named Regent of Scotland. In 1333 while attacking Roxburgh Castle Sir Andrew was captured and imprisoned for two years. In 1335 after he was ransomed he was named Guardian of Scotland by Parliament.
:Sir Andrew died at Avoch in 1338 and was buried at Rosemarkie in Moray, transferred to Dunfermline Abbey. Avoch is a harbour-village located on the south-east coast of the Black Isle, on the Moray Firth.
:As Andrew’s known wife, [[Brus-105|Christian Bruce]], was probably past child-bearing age when they married, it is likely that his two sons were born from an otherwise unrecorded first marriage.
