== Biography ==Duncan Bayne the 1st of Tulloch, son of Alexander Bayne of Dingwall, had a charter by King James V, dated July, 1541 "to the lands of Culch Bellefries, etc., in the Earldom of Ross, for the yearly payment of £18, 4s, 4bolls of bear and meal and 2 reekhens, to augument the rental by 20 shillings." Married a duaghter of Hector Roy Mackenzie 1st of Gairloch. In 1553 purchased lands of Davochcarty from Munro of Milton. Died before April 1559, leaving a son as successor, who was Alexander Bayne II, of Tulloch .... Tulloch Castle is located in the town of Dingwall in the Highlands of Scotland. It probably dates to the mid 16th century, when Duncan Bane (Bain, Bayne) was granted the barony of Tulloch in 1542. Over the years, Tulloch has served as a family home for members of the Bain family, Clan Davidson, and Vickers family. as a hospital after the evacuation of Dunkirk, and as a hostel for the local education authority.
