Alexander Keith was the third son of [[Keith-260|William Keith]] and [[Fraser-71|Margaret Fraser]]. No. 818, 939; Robertson's ''Index,'' 141; ''Antiq. of Aberdeen,'' etc., ii. 372 n.Birthdate estimated at fathers' estimated d.o.b. plus 30, as he was the 3rd son. He had a charter from King Robert II of the lands of Grandown (Grandholm), Craibstone and others. On 03 November 1402, he had a charter from Isabel, Countes of Mar and Gaioch, of the land of Glendowachy and Doun, confirmed by the King by charter of 08 February 1403.
He married [[Stewart-11419|Marjorie Stewart]] between 1391 and 1403. She was the widow of [[Dunbar-91|John Dunbar,]] Earl of Moray.
