Eve, Princess of Powys, daughter of Madoc, lived in the year 1160. Wikipedia (Cymru) Efa ferch Madog. Original in Welsh, translated by machine, strong possibility of errors! https://cy.wikipedia.org/wiki/Efa_ferch_Madog. Accessed and translated January 18, 2016.

===Subject of Poetry===
She is well known in the history of Welsh literature as the subject of a famous love poem by Cynddelw, a great Welsh poet who lived in the period 1155-1195.
Cynddelw, "the Great Poet" was particularly associated with Madog ap Meredith and his family. Cynddelw sang two poems to Madog himself, two and three to his son Owain Llywelyn Vaughan. But his famous poem to Eve stands out because it represents one of the best known examples of a particular form of medieval love poetry known as love-poem, which is considered a precursor to the love poetry in the work of the 14th century onwards.

===1140 Birth===
Cynddelw has suggested that the love poem was sung before 1160 Eve was still unmarried. That would suggest she was born around 1140-45 (girls are given in marriage as young as 12-14 years of age in medieval Wales, and other countries).

===Parentage===
She was the daughter of King Madoc ap Meredith of Powys. She had four brothers
#Llywelyn ap Madog (d. 1160),
#Gruffudd Maelor (d. 1191),
#Owain ap Madog Vaughan (d. 1187), and
#Owain Brogyntyn.

===Marriage===
All that is known with certainty about her history is her marriage with Cadwallon ap Madog ab Idnerth, Prince of Maelienydd.

===Issue and Inheritance===
At least one son of Maelgwn, inherited after the death of Cadwallon Maelienydd.
