Benson Barry Terrell graduated from Lake Charles High School and then joined the United States Marine Corps. He was injured in a helicopter accident while in the Marines. He went to work for Life of Georgia Insurance Company selling life insurance. He opened his own insurance company named Ben Terrell and Associates. He died of cancer at age 59. He was a self-made man and was very successful in his career and his community.
