George Moses "Doc" PRATHER

After his injury in the Dixie Cotton Mill in La Grange, Troup Co., GA, George "Doc" Prather made a living by trapping, raising honey bees and doing upholstery work. He sold his hides to Sears-Roebuck, Inc. for which he earned many awards for the quality of his furs. He bartered with his neighbors and friends using his honey to trade. He grew most of his food and lived off his land in Thomaston, Upson Co., GA.
