From page 76 of the "Historical and Biographical Atlas of Knox County, Indiana," published 18 80 by D. J. Lake and Co., Philadelphia:
William I. Prather - One of the prominent and influential citizens of Knox County, who reside s in Steen Township, deserves a representation in this volume, for he has a wide acquaintance , and we feel assured that his many friends will be glad to receive this record of his life' s work.
He is the son of James T. Prather and Nancy (Hawkins) Prather, the former having died April 2 7, 1879, and the latter January 14, 1874.
Our subject was married to Miss Lavina E. Truelove, November 29 (sic), 1888, at her home in S teen Township. Six children have been born to this union, all of whom are living, viz: Sime on Roy, born June 14, 1889; James William, born September 9, 1891; Clinton Charner, born Apri l 8, 1893; Alta Marie, born January 7, 1895; Maefair Ellen, born May 11, 1897; and John Theod ore, born April 3, 1900.
Mr. Prather owns and operates 156 acres of fertile land in Steen Township, all under a high s tate of cultivation. His own industry and enterprise have brought him his success in his lif e, and his honorable career has gained for him the high regard of all.

On 21 Oct 1979, I interviewed Effie Wampler Prather (age 88 at the time) in her home on Mai n Street in Wheatland, Knox Co., IN. The information she gave me on her husband Simeon Roy P rather's parents, William Isaac Prather and Lavina E. Truelove, matches what I found in the " Historical and Biographical Atlas of Knox County, Indiana," published in 1880 by D. J. Lake a nd Co., Philadelphia, except that she gave me the names of two more children: Mary Prather and Martha Prather. She did not have birthdates on these children, but she did know who the y married. She also provided names of other spouses.
