Edward was a petitioner to the Virgina General Assembly for the establishment of the town of Harrodsburg in 1787. Other family members listed as petitioners were his father and brother. 24 Nov., 1801 he was one of the men appointed to select land to build a road from the Somerset courthouse to Smith's Ferry.
