Thomas J. PRATER
(Abt 1859 - Bef 1870)
Thomas is thought by some to be the son of Joseph Prater. Joseph was his half brother and being much younger, is found living in the household of Joseph.
Re: his parentage:
Henry, it seems we have opened a can of worms. Even Aunt Hazel (who just turned 90, but still has a great memory) wrote me this past January that your grandfather, Benjamin, and my great uncle, Thomas, were born to Charlotte Yvonne Crits. Yet, subesequent notes from others who have dates, show Lettie and Thomas M. stayed married until he died between 1880 and 1890. Family rumor is that she left him and moved to NC (which could have been TN before state lines were changed), and then he married Charlotte. -- Carol Gray
