Death
His father was Christopher "Chris" Knapp. His parents were living in a small farming town of Betzingen, Germany when he was born.He left Germany and came to the United States in 1881 to join his older brother, George Knapp in Marshall, Ringgold County, Iowa. He worked in Iowa for about two years and then took out a homestead west of Harrington, Lincoln County, WA.
Having established a home he sent for his fiancée, Pauline Walker in Germany. They met each other 1889 at Sprague, Lincoln County, WA where they were married.
1900 they were enumerated at Harrington, WA where they were farming.
After his wife passed away he lived with their daughter and later at a rest home in Spokane, WA.
Due to a serious illness he was taken to a Spokane sanitarium and this is where he passed away.
Their children were:
Mary Knapp born August 1890 in Washington
and
Carl Knapp born April 1894 in Washington
