Death
His father was Christopher Knapp and his mother, Magdalene (Walker) Knapp. They were living in Betzingen, Germany when Gottlieb was born. This was a small farming community.Gottlieb served two years in the German army and then worked as a mail carrier for two years.
He married Christina Sauer 27 September 1900 in Germany.
He joined the Evangelical Church about 1903 in Germany.
They left Germany and came to the United States in 1905 bringing their two children, Karl and his sister, Hedwig. They had a farm near Harrington, Lincoln County, WA.
He was a charter member of the Liberty Grange in Lincoln County, WA.
He passed away in a Spokane Hospital.
