Biography
Marguerite was born on 5 February 1438, the daughter of Charles I, duc de Bourbon, and Agnes de Bourgogne, herself the daughter of Jean 'the Fearless', duc de Bourgogne, and Margaretha of Bavaria. On 6 April 1472 she was married to Philippe I, duke of Savoy, the son of Louis, Duke of Savoy and Anne de Lusignan. Marguerite and Philippe had two children, Philibert and Louise. Philibert died childless, but Louise married Charles d'Orléans, comte d'Angoulême, and became the mother of the future François I, king of France. Marguerite died 24 April 1483.Endnotes
