Catharina was the daughter of Martin de Tiesferies and Richarde de Leplanque (or la Blanque). She was one of more than thirty mistresses of Philippe 'the Good', duc de Bourgogne, son of Jean 'the Fearless', duc de Bourgogne, and Margaretha von Bayern. By him she had a son Baudouin who would have progeny, and have a distinguished career in the service of Burgundy. Her dates of birth and death are not recorded.
