Death
Constance R. "Connie" Kaltenbach, 65, of 800 S. 24th died at 11:55 p.m. Monday (May 6, 2002) in Sunset Home in Quincy.Born May 17, 1936, in Quincy, she was a daughter of Justice John T. and Mildred Moller Reardon. She married Wilfred L. Kaltenbach Sept. 3, 1960. He survives.
Mrs. Kaltenbach was a homemaker throughout her life and was active as a volunteer for a number of years with the former St. Mary Hospital Guild, St. Peter Church and School, and Quincy Notre Dame High School. She was a member of St. Peter Church and a participant with the St. Peter Perpetual Adoration Chapel. She was named a lifetime member of the Quincy Notre Dame High School Foundation Board and served on the Encore! Symphony Volunteer Council. She was an avid bridge player with a longtime group of Quincy friends and with groups at the Quincy Country Club and the Women's City Club. She also served as a scorer for Bridge-O-Rama. She was a lifelong member of the Quincy County Club.
Mrs. Kaltenbach was a 1958 graduate of Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, where she earned a bachelor's degree in sociology. She was a 1954 graduate of Quincy Notre Dame High School and a 1950 graduate of St. Peter School in Quincy.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Wilfred of Quincy; two daughters, Kay Lobo and her husband, Carlos, of Wheeling and Ann Hayes and her husband, Rocky, of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; two grandsons, Eric and Matthew Hayes, both of Cape Girardeau; and two sisters, Judy Reardon of Sarasota, Fla., and Sharon Gibbons and her husband, John, of Edwardsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home and at noon at St. Peter Church by the Rev. Roy Bauer and the Rev. Victor Kaltenbach. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. There will be a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials may be made to the Quincy Notre Dame Foundation or St. Peter Catholic Church.
