John thomas Reardon

John T. Reardon was born in Quincy, Illinois.  Attended Quincy College and received his legal education at St. Louis University.  Following his admission to the Bar in 1933, he served as Corporation Counsel of the City of Quincy.  Elected State's Attorney of Adams County in 1944, and reelected in 1948.  He was a partner in the firm of Reardon and Loos until his election as Circuit Judge for the Eighth Judicial Circuit in 1957.  Chief Judge of the Eighth  Circuit from September of 1963 to April of 1976.  Served as President of the Illinois State's Attorney's Association (1950).  President of the Illinois Circuit and Appellate Judges Association (1963-1964).  He was elected as Chairman of the National Conference of State Trial Judges (1969-1970).  His activity in the bar association culminated in his selection as Chairman of the Division of Judicial Administration of the American Bar Association (1974-1975).  A member of the Executive Committee of the Illinois Judicial Conference (1963-1969).  Former member of the Illinois Court Commission and the Illinois Judicial Inquiry Board.  He resides in Quincy at 4143 Coachlight Court.
