Naomia Rosilee Boiles

Naomia R. (Boiles) Hollingshead, formerly of Lake Colorado City and the Abilene area, Texas died on Saturday, January 22, 2005, in a Houston, Texas hospital due to complications of congestive heart failure. She was born in Taylor County, Texas on August 4, 1923, and grew up and attended schools in the Wylie Community at Abilene. On March 23, 1940, she married Emmitt Clyde Hollingshead of Potosi, Texas. They lived in Tye and Abilene until 1945, when they moved to Midland, Texas.
They have four children, Darlene Hoopes of Williamsburg, Kansas, Dwayne Hollingshead of Midland, Texas, Laurabeth Martin of Midland, Texas and Sharon Hutchinson of Houston, Texas. Their children's spouses are Lana Hollingshead, Glen Martin, and Jason Hutchinson. Also, they have 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Naomia has two surviving sisters, Opal Long of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Verna Jones of Midland, Texas.
Naomia worked with Midland Independent School Districts Food Services, retiring after 14 years. The couple moved to Colorado City, Texas in 1987. After Clyde’s death in 1994, she continued living there until 2000. She moved back to Midland for two years, and in 2002, moved to Houston, where she lived with her daughter.
Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory in Abilene, Texas, will direct graveside services in the Potosi Cemetery in Potosi, Texas on Wednesday, January 26 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jim Mosley officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday morning, January 26, at the funeral home.
