OBITUARY :
ANNA GENEVA COLLINS SHINDLEDECKER, 77, of Blue Ridge Summit, died Thursday, Oct. 10, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, Md.
Born Feb. 24, 1919 in Sabillasville, Md., she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Edith Bentzel Collins.
She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Maurice E. Shindledecker, in 1996.
Mrs. Shindledecker was a member of Jacob's United Church of Christ, Fairfield, and was previously a member of Apples United Church of Christ, Thurmont, Md.
She retired after 40 years of combined employment as a sales clerk at the Summit Shopping Center in Blue Ridge Summit and the National Military Command Center (Site R) near Fort Ritchie. Mrs. Shindledecker was a graduate of Thurmont High School.
She is survived by one daughter, Marsha A. Hawbaker of Blue Ridge Summit; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren: and one brother, Robert Lee Troxell of Thurmont.
Mrs. Shindledecker was predeceased by one sister, Naomi C. West.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 14, at Jacob's United Church of Christ, with the Rev. William D. Kauffman officiating. Interment will be private.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Jacob's United Church of Christ, 495 Harbaugh Valley Road, Fairfield 17320.
Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont, is in charge of arrangements.
