Regina Eleanor Smith

Mrs. Regina E. “Jean” (Smith) Harbaugh Nunemaker, of 18 Mount Vernon Terrace, Waynesboro, PA, died at 1:20 P.M., Wednesday, April 18, 2007, in her home. Death was unexpected and attributed to natural causes.
Born in Rouzerville, PA she was the daughter of the late Allen L. and Catherine (Mentzer) Smith.
Mrs. Nunemaker attended Waynesboro schools.
Her first husband, the late Roscoe E. “Rick” Harbaugh, died in 1966. Her second husband, the late Glen J. Nunemaker, died on October 15, 1984. Following the marriage to Mr. Nunemaker, she lived in Mont Alto, PA from 1969 until 1988.
She worked at Lee� (TM)s Outlet, Waynesboro, until retiring in 1977.
She has been a member of the Waynesboro Presbyterian Church since 1954, where she was ordained as a church elder in 1962, served as a trustee since 1959, and taught Sunday school for a number of years. She was also a member of the National AARP, South Chapter #2977 AARP, and a former member of the Waynesboro Historical Society.
Mrs. Nunemaker was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State football fan. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and family, and square dancing.
She is survived by one son, Gilmore “Skip” Harbaugh, of Waynesboro; two step-daughters, Anna Stitely of Chambersburg, PA, and Judy Koons of Waynesboro; 12 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; one sister, Catherine Rothrock of Euclid, OH; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Lois Martin who died in 1999; one son, Ronald Robinson who died in 1990; her sister Mae Martin; and her brother James Smith.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 23, 2007, in the Presbyterian Church, 105 E. Main St., Waynesboro, with Rev. Lee Hahnlen, officiating. Burial will follow in Harbaugh Church Cemetery, Rouzerville.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Sunday evening, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
