"Sara E. (Alleman) Kipe, 91 years of age, was peacefully called to her heavenly home early Saturday morning, December 31st. She resided at Menno Haven, Chambersburg, PA. Sara was born in Shippensburg on September 13, 1920.
Sara served with her husband in numerous capacities for the Brethren in Christ Church for over 50 years. She greatly enjoyed and loved her family. In most recent years, she enjoyed playing games, working on puzzles, reading, crocheting, sewing, making gifts, visiting family and friends. Sara was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by four daughters, Lois F. married to Mervin Buckwalter, Joy E. married to Keith Sider, Karen J. married to Millard Eppig and Gail L. married to Nelson Wenger; two sisters, Dorothy Whistler and Esther Pisle; 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George D. Kipe; both of her sons, Leroy K. and Gerald W.; her parents, John K. and Elizabeth Alleman; and eight brothers and one sister.
Funeral service will be held January 7th at 11:00 a.m. at the Air Hill BIC Church, Chambersburg. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg and one hour prior to the services Saturday in church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Air Hill BIC Church, 7041 Cumberland Highway, Chambersburg, PA 17201."
