OBITUARY :
MRS. ANNA M. HELMAN, 81, of 5196 Wayne Road, Chambersburg, widow of Clyde A. Helman, Sr., died at noon Thursday, Jan. 11, in the Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown. She had been in failing health for the past year and was critically ill for the last two months. Prior to being admitted to the hospital on Jan. 2, she had been a patient at the Waynesboro Hospital for 18 days.

Born April 4, 1908, in Guilford Township, she was the daughter of the late Peter C. and Bertha (Lesher) Ott. All of her life was lived in the Five Forks area, and she lived at the present residence since August 1988.

For a number of years she was employed at the Hess Orchard Co. in Five Forks.

She and her husband were married in November 1927. He died in May 1988.

Mrs. Helman was a member of the Five Forks Brethren in Christ Church.

She is survived by five daughters and a son, Mrs. Betty Smetzer, Mrs. Zelda Hartman and Mrs. Ethel Wingert, all of Waynesboro, Mrs. Michaleen Lohman of Tempe, Ariz., and Mrs. Anna Mary Carbaugh and Clyde A. Helman, Jr., both of Chambersburg.

Also surviving are 17 grandchildren ; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mary Hoover, a resident of Menno-Haven, Chambersburg; and a brother, Clarence Ott of Chambersburg.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Grove Funeral Home, with the Revs. Wilbur Besecker and Martha Helman officiating. Burial will be in the Grindstone Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday.
